Nutramon Novo: Reducing CO2 Emissions for a Greener Agricultural Future
Nutramon Novo is a lower-carbon nitrogen fertiliser produced using biogas. By using biomethane instead of natural gas, the CO2 intensity of this fertiliser can be reduced by at least 50%. This contributes to a more sustainable food system and helps the agricultural sector reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
To feed 9.7 billion people by 2050 and simultaneously reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030, innovations in agricultural practices are essential. Nitrogen fertilisers significantly contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, but switching to lower-carbon fertilisers, such as Nutramon Novo, can substantially reduce the environmental impact of agricultural production. Nutramon Novo is made using biogas, a sustainable energy source derived from biogenic waste and residues. By using biomethane instead of natural gas in its production process, the CO2 intensity can be reduced by at least 50%. Nutramon Novo thus contributes to a more sustainable food system without compromising the quality of the fertiliser while helping farmers reduce the carbon footprint of their crop production.
