Richard Kaye

Head of Brand and Communications, The Openfield Partnership

Richard has 39 years' of strategic communications, sales and marketing experience working in both financial services and agriculture.

Since 2017 he has been accountable for all Openfield's brand management, farmer communications, public and media relations, internal communications, advertising and sponsorship programmes. He reports directly to Openfield’s CEO and works with both their Board, executive directors and regional teams to deliver his accountabilities.

Prior to Openfield, Richard spent 16 years at Barclays in several roles working with senior executives. He was responsible for the design, creation and provision of teams which communicated key business strategy for both domestic and international audiences. Between 2011 and 2017, he was Head of Barclays Legal Communications, accountable for Legal’s communication strategy across 34 countries and 52 cities in numerous time zones. Before Barclays, Richard spent 16 years at Prudential in sales, marketing and communications roles based in both Yorkshire and London and some of his initial customers worked in farming or were farmers. Richard is a strong supporter of raising awareness of good mental health and wellbeing across farming and was instrumental in supporting Openfield’s partnership with FCN to help raise awareness of FCN
