The CropTec Show 2020 still on track to be a face-to-face event

The CropTec Show 2020 still on track to be face-to-face event

After months of event cancellations, postponements and transitions onto virtual platforms, farmers and agricultural organisations can rest assured there is at least one event still on track to take place face-to-face in 2020.

Last week, the Governments green light to business events and conferences from 1st October means The CropTec Show organisers can go full steam ahead. The show returns to the East of England Showground in Peterborough for a live event on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th November 2020.

The Show will be held in accordance with the latest UK Government and Public Health England recommendations regarding COVID-secure business-to-business trade exhibitions. Show management is working closely with the East of England Showground and the exhibitions industry to ensure the latest advice and best practice is being followed.

I am delighted we are able to host The CropTec Show 2020 again, said Jason Lunn, Venue Director at the East of England Arena and Events Centre. The venue has been at the forefront of planning for outdoorandindoor events as part of the industry associations working with government. We are delighted to see the latest announcement that indoor events will return from October. We are working with the organisers to provide a safe environment for exhibitors and visitors and look forward to The CropTec Show 2020 opening on 25thNovember.

This years event will once again bring together the best and brightest in arable farming, providing key take-home, practical messages to develop on farm. As social distancing measures will reduce ticket availability, the CropTec Show is also making seminars, hub talks and other content available, live, online.

It has been quite the year so far, but we are determined to deliver what is a key event in the arable diary in the most safe and effective way possible. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the farming community and our exhibitors in person, and, to make sure the expert-led content reaches an even larger audience than normal, we will be streaming all content on-line via our new and improved website, commented Elisabeth Mork-Eidem, Group Events Director for AgriBriefing, owners of The CropTec Show.

Providing support to the arable industry throughout this unusual year, The CropTec Show has increased its emphasis on virtual content. Its podcast, ‘Crop It Like Its Hot, is hosted by farmer and Arable Farming journalist Alice Dyer and offers timely updates each month from industry specialists. And this month, the Show has re-launched its website, www.croptecshow.com, with a fresh design and new resources for both visitors and exhibitors, helping them make the most of the CropTec experience throughout the arable season.

Teresa Rush, Agribriefings Head of Arable, said, Farmers are accustomed to change, but this year has been like no other. Businesses must be resilient to survive, and resilience requires adaptation. The CropTec Show 2020 provides an unrivalled opportunity for the UK arable sector to explore its changing environment and equip itself for what lies ahead.

The CropTec Show is a leading technical knowledge exchange event where growers, agronomists, business consultants and suppliers gain insights into building sustainable and profitable businesses through innovation.

This years seminar programme delivers the latest research from leading scientists and its practical application from UK farmers and industry experts. The presentations and panel sessions provide opportunity to question and discuss how to stay ahead in these challenging times. The seminars are complemented by the popular specialist knowledge hubs, allowing delegates to take home additional practical farm-ready solutions.

With the exhibition halls filling up fast, more than 170 companies will showcase a wide range of arable technology, up-to-date agronomy and best business practice.

Visitors to The CropTec Show 2020 are able to collect up to 6 BASIS and 6 NRoSO points on both days of the event.

The event is free to attend. Tickets must be booked in advance due to the government social distancing measures. Registration will be launching in August.
