CropTec's Digital Farming Hub

CropTec's Digital Farming Hub

Now in its 10th year, CropTec Show continues to give visitors a chance to explore and learn about key industry topics at its sponsored Knowledge Hubs. This includes a Digital Farming Hub, sponsored by FieldView, which will give visitors the opportunity to hear from expert speakers and discover how new technologies are shaping the way farmers use data.

Modern farming is generating huge amounts of data and farmers are told this data has value, explains Max Dafforn, Digital Activation Manager at Bayer. But how many are actually realising this value by utilising the data they have to inform management decisions and implement change?

Practical ways for farmers to make more of their farm data will be a key areas of focus for the Digital Farming Hub, says Max: We will be looking at how new technology, such as the digital farming platform FieldView, is changing the way farmers collect, share and interact with their data.

Featuring an exciting programme of sessions, the hub will host interactive Q&As, with both FieldView and industry experts sharing their insights. Sessions will focus on practical examples and will equip visitors with the knowledge to benefit from their farm data.

Digital Activation Specialists, Edward Lawton-Bradshaw and Ellie Borthwick-North, will both host interactive Q&A sessions featuring FieldView users. They will share how the technology is being used on farm, explore how the key features deliver value, and look at how it is supporting better use of farm data.

Max Dafforn will also host a session to introduce FieldView and demonstrate its key features. We will be sharing on-farm examples from this harvest of how farmers are using data to inform variety choice, optimise nitrogen use, evaluate disease management, and streamline data collection, he comments.

The talks will be full of practical examples that can be implemented on any farm and show how farmers can start reaping the benefits of digital farming to unlock the potential of their data.

In another session, ADAS experts Dr Christina Baxter, Senior Crop Research Consultant, and Dr Daniel Kindred, Head of Agronomics, will also explore how the use of nitrogen can be optimised on farm. They will consider how data collected can support better decision making and improve nitrogen efficiency.

Outside of these sessions, the Digital Farming Hub also gives visitors access to FieldViews specialist digital team. They will be on-hand throughout the day to answer any questions on how to get the most out of the data being generated on farm and share examples of how growers are using the platform to support better decision making.

The Digital Farming Hub can be found on the Climate FieldView stand at CropTec. The CropTec Show will be held on the 23rd and 24th November at the East of England Showground.
