Waking up winter crops
by UPL
Winter cereal crops are suffering in many regions, with poor establishment and shallow roots that have been in anaerobic conditions for an extended period of time.
The wet weather conditions have resulted in low nutrient levels in the soil, and the outcome of poor nutrient status and shallow rooting will become more apparent as the plant moves into grain filling stage- when the poor root structure will reduce the potential for grain filling.
It is possible to enhance root growth in the period up to stem elongation, by applying a GA142 product up to and including T0. At 1l/ha.
The addition of a GA142 based product such asROOTERorCALBRA CARBOwill improve uptake efficiency and enhance rooting, something invaluable to many winter cereal crops this season.
